Alzheimer’s Society

Information on types of dementia, symptoms and diagnosis, treatments, risk factors and prevention, support for carers, online support, dementia services and local support groups, support with daily living, help with care, staying independent, benefits, paying for care, finding a care home and end of life.

Let’s Talk Wellbeing

Self-referral service for people aged 16 and over in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (over 18 in Nottingham/Nottinghamshire) that provides assessment and talking therapy treatment for common mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, panic, phobias, obsessive compulsive disorders (OCD), trauma and stress.

Mental health wellbeing and recovery service for people over the age of 18 and living in Blaby District, Leicester City, Oadby and Wigston, offering face to face support, online support and Freephone services.  Offers Peer Support groups such as a wellbeing group for women who are refugees/asylum seekers, walk and talk for wellbeing, local history group, wellbeing for men, Polish women’s group and recovery from trauma and abuse for women among many other services.

Local organisation set up to help people with mental health issues live a more fulfilling life.  Services are holistic and include goal setting, self-belief/confidence building, dance fitness, positive affirmations (law of attraction), wellness seminars, reflexology, holistic massage, crystal healing, crystal workshops and meditation.

LAMP Mental Health Care and Support

Lamp provides independent advocacy that helps people with mental health issues and their carers. Working on developing their confidence to speak out, enabling individuals to make a real difference in the quality of the support and care they receive, they help to reduce the sense of isolation and promote resilience, resulting in fewer people in crisis. Greater understanding and awareness also brings families together and helps to build stronger communities.  They provide information and support, as well as organise and attend community events, to help challenge stigma, increase awareness and help those whose lives are affected by mental health.
